VISAS: US passport holders require a visa for Kenya and Tanzania, contact your Travel Advisor for more information.

TRANSPORTATION: This trip is operated by 4X4 Toyota Landcruiser safari vehicles, every one of the 6 seats is a window seat which, along with the pop top roof, gives the best wildlife viewing opportunities. The trip will travel over a variety of terrains, resulting in some rough and bumpy journeys; we would not recommend it to anyone suffering from back problems. Guests must be comfortable climbing in and out of the safari vehicle multiple times a day on this trip.

LUGGAGE ALLOWANCE: Guests must travel with a soft sided bag or medium size suitcases due to limited space in the safari vehicles. Soft sided bags makes it easier for the Driver Guides to pack the luggage space efficiently without having to move some of the bags inside the vehicle if there is no space remaining in the luggage compartment.

ARRIVAL IN NAIROBI: On arrival at Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta Airport you are met at the airport and taken to your hotel.

DEPARTURE FROM KILIMANJARO: complimentary transfer is offered to Kilimanjaro Airport arriving around 2.00 PM, please speak to your Driver Guide for further information. GRATUITIES: We are confident that by the end of the trip you will have come to appreciate the important part your Driver Guide has played in its smooth running. If you are satisfied with their services, you may wish to express this satisfaction with a gratuity as is customary on escorted trips throughout the world. Many guests ask for guidance in this area; we would advise that an average gratuity for your Driver Guide would be USD 7.00 - 10.00 per person per day.

RECOMMENDED ITEMS TO BRING: We have not produced a specific guide or list of what to bring on this trip, but some recommendations are:
  • Comfortable clothing for travelling in the safari vehicles for prolonged periods of time - bear in mind temperatures in the evening/morning time can dip below 50F and there can be some wind chill factor whilst out on safari. So warm clothing such as fleeces, jumpers, sweaters will be required and guest may find it best to bring multiple layers due to the temperature fluctuations.
  • Sunglasses, sunhat and sunscreen.
  • Mosquito repellent and long sleeved shirts and pants to offer protection from them.
  • Comfortable closed toe shoes (but not necessary to have hiking boots, sneakers will be fine).
  • Camera with plenty of memory card space or back up spare memory cards
